Newport-Mesa Unified School District
Parent School Choice Transfers
2017-2018 School Year

 

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District allows Parent School Choice Transfers for residents of the District.  Depending upon availability, the parent or guardian of any school-age resident student may request a school their child may transfer to.  The Parent School Choice transfer request application period for the 2017-2018 school year begins January 17, 2017 at 9:00 am. and closes on March 15, 2017 at 11:59 pm.  Transfer request applications may be completed only online at the Newport-Mesa Unified School District web site www.nmusd.us/transfers .  A lottery will be held to rank the applications in priority order. Parents will be notified regarding the status of their Parent School Choice Transfer request application online by email or in writing by May 15, 2017.

Año Escolar 2017-2018

 

El Distrito Escolar Unificado Newport-Mesa permite la Petición de Padres para Cambiar de Escuela dentro del Distrito a estudiantes residentes del Distrito. Dependiendo de la disponibilidad, el padre/tutor legal de un estudiante de edad escolar que resida en el Distrito podrá solicitar una escuela de transferencia para su hijo(a). El periodo de aplicación para la Petición de Padres para Cambiar de Escuela para el año escolar 2017-2018 comenzará el 15 de enero, 2017 a las 9:00am y terminará el 15 de marzo, 2017 a las 11:59pm. Se podrá llenar la aplicación de petición de transferencia solo por Internet en la página Web del Distrito Escolar Unificado Newport-Mesa en www.nmusd.us/transfers.  Se llevará a cabo una lotería para clasificar las aplicaciones en orden de prioridad. Los padres serán notificados acerca del estado de su petición por correo electrónico o por escrito antes del 15 de mayo, 2017.

Director, Curriculum and Instruction

The Math Pilot Steering committee, working with elementary site representatives, has been hard at work in preparation for the implementation of the math pilot programs in the classrooms. 

The first six week pilot cycle will begin in select classrooms at each site during the last week in November and will continue through the middle of January. Parents of students participating in the pilot process were notified of their child’s participation during conference week.

As next steps, the site pilot team representatives will be meeting in early December for their second full day of building their collective understanding around the shifts in mathematics instruction.

El comité de dirección de Matemáticas piloto, trabajando con representantes comerciales elementales, ha estado trabajando duro en la preparación para la puesta en práctica de los programas piloto de matemáticas en las aulas. 

El primer ciclo piloto de seis semanas comenzará en algunas aulas en cada lugar durante la última semana de noviembre y continuará hasta mediados de enero. Los padres de los estudiantes que participan en el proceso experimental fueron notificados de la participación de su hijo durante la semana de conferencias.

On July 1, 1966 the Costa Mesa Union School District, Newport Beach City School District and the Newport Harbor Union High School District unified to become the Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD).
