2020-2021 School Bus Transportation Services

As communicated with parents last week, Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) announced dates to reopen schools and transition to modified in-person instruction (level 2).  

Due to COVID-19 and the need to accommodate social distancing, as best as possible, school bus transportation services will be limited. Please see below for changes:

  • Availability of bus passes will be significantly reduced

  • Ridership will be limited to one rider per seat

  • Bus passes will be issued on a first come first served basis

  • Several bus stops have been eliminated and or consolidated 

  • Elementary riders must be assigned to the AM portion of the hybrid schedule

  • Face coverings are required for all bus passengers (page 17 of School Reopening Plan)

REMINDER - Staggered reopening of schools for modified in-person instruction (Level 2):

  • TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2020: Transitional Kindergarten – Grade 2 and special needs students receiving Special Day Class (SDC) services (TK-12)

  • Thursday, October 1, 2020: Grades 3 - 6

  • Monday, October 12, 2020: Grades 7 – 12
