Thanks to a partnership with Hazel Health, students can access mental health services, at no out-of-pocket cost, to support them and keep them engaged in their learning. Hazel Health offers teletherapy with licensed therapists Monday through Friday, 7 am-7 pm. Support is available in multiple languages for all students, whether insured or uninsured, regardless of immigration status.

Families may request services for their student(s) directly through the NMUSD Hazel Health website. Students may also be referred by school staff. All referrals require parental consent through an opt-in form (available in English, Spanish, and Russian on the NMUSD Mental Health and Wellness webpage). A legal guardian must be present at the initial virtual meeting.

Any information given to Hazel Health is confidential. However, if a student is deemed a danger to themself, Hazel Health will notify emergency services and guardians.

Hazel Health serves more than 3 million students across more than 150 school districts, helping to reduce chronic absenteeism and unfinished learning by addressing gaps in healthcare access.
